Merchant Power
Due to the small droplet size and pre-atomized nature of MSAR, it is an effective fuel replacement for heavy fuel oil fired power stations that have limited combustion chamber residence times where complete hydrocarbon combustion must occur very quickly. This characteristic also makes MSAR a suitable fuel for heavy fuel oil generator sets such as the Wartsila Engine. MSAR also has lower viscosity, can be handled at room temperature and is generally easier to handle than heavy fuel oil.
Quadrise is actively searching for suitable cost effective residual feedstocks from petroleum refineries and very heavy crude sources to convert into MSAR for supply to merchant power stations.
Quadrise, through its Diamond QC subsidiary, has licensed Paxton Corporation to use the MCST process to develop distributed power generation and enhanced oil recovery operations in Western Canada. Paxton Corporation has a mandate to build zero air emission liquid CO2 and power facilities. This will enable low production conventional oil facilities to increase their recovery through carbon dioxide injection and generate merchant power.
